Hola all!

I've been listening to Pulse for about a month and I love it.

I'm currently a member of a TV show in Australia called Haunted Australia by Mystical Guides. I get to go all over and visit some of the most spectacular locations. I consider myself very lucky!

Keep up the great work.

PS: We have an episode available of the show online for all to enjoy at www.mysticalguides.com/survey.html

Thanks Chrissy

I have several paranormal themed podcasts on my iPod subscriptions and it's a shame I didn't clue on to Pulse until recently! I'm quickly working my way through the back log of podcasts.

I'm an avid skeptic when it comes to the paranormal. I got into the scene by accident. Someone needed a camera man for some location shoot and 6 years later, here I am.

Although I'm skeptical, I do believe in the paranormal. To be a true skeptic means to be open to everything...and then decide for yourself. Which is what I do. I can walk away from a location thinking the entire event was total bunk, or I walk away scratching my head trying to make sense of the night's events.

I often ask...why? I ask it too often in some cases. Techniques are my main focus. Why do we do the things we do? Why are things based on "theory" that doesn't exist? Why are some gadget implemented when they have no methods of control in place?

I ask a lot of questions...and the problem is, it's my job to answer them. Ugh!

I've had a few things happen where I was left with my brain saying "This can't be happening...there's a logical explanation" and my eyes and ears saying "No...dude...this IS happening".

Things like the episode I posted here. We had a camera man quit. He went to his car and wouldn't come back out. I don't blame him, he had to film the entire event. We were asked to check out some lights coming from a building behind a pub we were filming at (plenty of spirits in a pub!). Myself, the team leader and one of the camera men went to see what was happening. The area was locked down so I was a little annoyed because no one was supposed to go near that building. When we got there, we walked down a pitch black hallway with the only light coming from the broadcast camera. Down this hallway there are 2 toilet blocks. I walked past the first and the team leader swore he saw someone standing in the first block.

I couldn't see anything and I figured maybe he saw a shadow cast by the camera light. Then the EMF went right off. I don't usually put any faith in those metres...but this thing went off with a pulsing beat that repeated. I have never heard this...ever. The temperature in the first toilet bock dropped so low that my hand hurt to hold the audio recorder. I could see my breath and the other toilet was normal temperature. Then all of a sudden I though I heard someone walking toward me from the second block. It startled me a little...but I figured it was probably a leaf (which is wierd because now that I think of it there was no wind blowing). I took a step back and all of a sudden I felt something squeeze behind me and push em forward. I turned to the team leader and asked if that was him...he then said "I thought it was you"....and that was pretty much it for us....we saw the look on the camera man's face and we got out.

The pub has several assumed hauntings. One is pretty frightening. One two occasions, two owners of the pub have been pushed down stairs. The first owner was up stairs recovering a week later with his leg in plaster and somethng grabbed his leg and began twisting it. He left soon after. The second owner won't stay the night after he was pushed.

The stables (where we filmed and got pushed) is reputed to be haunted by a chinaman who was hung there. He is also said to be pretty violent. He has been seen in the paddock among the animals as they run in circles. I have seen the animals do this but figured it was a fox.

We have also been to 14 other locations. The absolute worst is an abandoned experimental psych hospital. It's a virtual maze of 63 abandoned buildings. There is one room we focus on where we've had people literally pass out. A soundman, assistant director and some cast have been effected there. We work with engineers in the show and biomedical engineers...all are skeptical...one was the soundman. He's not so skeptical anymore.

Anyway...I've gone on way too much. We are going to put another three episodes online for everyone to check out and hopefully fill in the survey.

We are self funded and self reliant. Although Mystical Guides is an active broadcast company, we don;t make a single cent. We are all volunteers and we all devote our skills to helping produce the show. We've been approached by commercial TV stations but we feel we create better shows without the restrictions of broadcast contracts.

We shoot over the weekend. Edit over a few days and air a week later. The shows are incomplete when they are aired...due to time restraints we can't air what we'd love people to see. We are currently back in post production cleaning up the show, implementing new footage etc to make the show as good as we can get it. Thats why we have the survey...so we can get some constructive criticism. We can guess what people would love to see on TV, or we can ask!

Anyway..again...I ramble on too much!

Hope to catch the show live if I'm awake!

Jose

OHHHH....I have the best EVP....which isn't really an EVP because it was audible. A noise that totally left us startled in a pine forest we filmed an episode in. I'll upload it to our server and post it tonight with a short summary.

Ok..here goes...here is the audible sound we recorded in a pine forest and the whole story below

http://www.mysticalguides.com/temp/ForestSound.mp3

We were shooting at a location for an episode that still hasn't aired. The location was an old prison on a small island off the mainland of Australia. I had heard stories about a ghost tour in this location and that's where we got an angle for the episode.

The island is very remote. You can only get there on a barge and the population is something like 90. The stories of what went on were pretty interesting. They are going to make a great episode. Things like over 300 inmates who escaped and were never seen again and their bodies never found.

The story attached to the sound file initially had me laughing. There was a story of an elemental creature seen roaming the pine plantation outside the old gaol. It had been seen twice and the owners of the old gaol said they wouldn't venture into the forest at night.

Pretty spooky...until they told me it was a half man, half sheep creature with glowing red eyes. That sparked a few jokes as to what these people did during winter to stay warm. I didn't take the story seriously being pretty sleptical about the paranormal scene.

So we set up all the gear and night fell. We had scheduled a shoot in the forest and we made our way up the dirt road toward the old, overgrown pine trees. The whole way up, we were making fun of the Sheeple creature as I called it. I do believe in the paranormal...but a sheeples??

So anyway...we arrived at an old gate that separated us from the dirt road and the entrance to the forest. A dirt track ran through the centre of the pine forest and the moonlight couldn't pierce the thick tree growth so it was pitch black deeper inside the forest.

I was the first one over the fence and as I took a few steps in, I started saying "Laaaaaambert! Here Laaaaaaaaambert!" as a joke when all of a sudden I heard the noise on the MP3. It sounded like it was pretty far away and I stopped dead still and silent. This noise, whatever it was, travelled a long distance in a few seconds (the hair on my arms just stood up as I type this haha). The noise was now what seemed like a few metres away in the darkness of the forest.

I stood there...listening to this noise...totally frozen in disbelief. Then I turned to see where the others were and no one had climbed the fence yet. So I was standing in the dark, about 5 metres into the forest ALONE. I looked at the rest of the cast and crew...and they looked at me. We all had the same pale, white look of fear at this stage....and I was STILL standing there alone as the noise got closer. I could see no one was jumping that fence in a hurry. I can remember saying "No f'n way man...this isn't happening"

Now...I'm a man...I'm a big man. I used to compete in Kickboxing so I can handle myself...BUT...I was ready to run and scream like a little girl at that stage. Eventually, everyone climbed over the fence. We could still hear the noise as it seemed to circle us but we could never hear any kind of footfall. We walked deeper into the forest and the noise got louder. It seemed to be in front of us, then behind. We were pretty disorientated in the dark so I didnt know what was up or down. I just knew we weren;t supposed to get off the track.

The audio was recorded at this stage. We have the full audio but this is just a small sample.

We left the forest as the noise eventually died down. I was pretty shaken up. I was supposed to spend the night in the most active area of the gaol alone where they say a violent spirit has forced people top leave in the middle of the night. I was still cool with the idea...UNTIL...the owner mentioned the Sheeple had been seen in that wing of the gaol a few times...so I was like "Screw that, I'm sleeping with the rest of the crew. If I'm going to get eaten alive in my sleep then I'm taking you all down with me"

As I said...I'm a firm skeptic. I do believe in the paranormal but I take everything with a grain of salt. This noise...whatever it was, scared me. We submitted the full audio to the park ranger. He said he couldn't identify it. We gave it to a zoologist and he couldn't find anyone that recognised it. The island is a national park so there are only native animals there. Someone said it sounded like a koala...but the zoologist and park ranger disagreed. We sent it to a koala specialist to be sure and he said it wasnt a koala.

We didnt know at the time of the recording but there we no cattle or sheep allowed on the island. If I had known that, I probably would have taken the "run away screaming like a little girl" option

I'm sure it was an animal of some kind. It's more likely to be an animal than a Sheeple thats for sure. No idea what animal or why it seemed to travel such a long distance in such a short time with no sounds of footfall, moving trees of bushes...nothing....just the sound it made.

While we were listening to it, it sounded almost human at times. Thats the scary part. It sounded so much like a human at times that we actually went looking for it just incase it wasn't someone who was hurt. I could hardly distinguish it from being animal or human. At that stage, I almost had to believe it was a Sheeple. My brain was saying "Come one dude, there's no way that's a half man half sheep creature"...and my eyes and ears were telling me otherwise.

Pretty freaky stuff.
